My 11 year old son has major meltdowns, to the point he will scream at the top of his lungs, cry and slam things around for hours. When he was younger he would throw himself on the ground and scream and cry. This has occurred in very public places (such as Disneyland). At that time we thought it was a phase but now we don't know what to do. We're walking around on pins and needles not wanting to set him off. It 's been extremely disruptive to the household, especially for his older sister who it's so stressed by it all she's failing classes. Truly at wits end

Go talk to your doctor about his behavior I would say that he has some kind of underlying problem that is causing all this. The doctor will send him to be tested for different issues based on your description of his behavior and then he may get diagnosed with something. My son has ADHD and ODD with aggressive tendencies so without his medication he is a walking time bomb. I don't think medication is right for every child but for us it has allowed my son to lead a very normal healthy happy life.
