My 2.5yr old slaps his face whenever get irritated.

Does your son talk? When he does this I would take his hand and give him a pillow and have him hit the pillow and say , this is better. You would have to do it a few times and hopefully he will hit the pillow whenever he is frustrated. My daughter was a headbanger and the doctors said she wouldn't hurt herself but there was a bump with a blood spot so I called doctor and asked if u should put on a helmet, they laughed so I was on my own. When she would do it I would get on all 4's and rock and say this is better finally that's what she did! She did get diagnosed with ADHD but she is doing fine now.
