Exactly my thoughts, Dove...

Brittany, the baby not urinating is a problem. If it's been over 24 hours, it could be a big deal. Take him in to the doctor immediately.

When a person is not urinating, it indicates a problem in the urinary tract. And, I've recently found that there is a condition in boys (not all, but some) that causes a constriction of the urethra that, if left untreated will cause the bladder to back up into the kidneys, and eventually the kidneys will stop functioning.

Do you have a Children's Hospital in your area? I'd recommend taking the baby there if you do.

The reason I'm concerned is that my son had problems with a constriction of his urethra that started at birth (come to find out) and were advanced when he racked himself on his bicycle later. He's 18 now, but for the last 2 years he's been in and out of the hospital, had 4 catheters and two separate surgical procedures to correct the problem. I'm told that if it had been caught when he was your son's age, he wouldn't have had nearly the extensive medical procedures that he did have.

I don't want to scare you, but you do need to get this checked out ASAP. And, please, keep me posted. You can PM me anytime with questions or updates! I wish you the best, and I hope that you find that it's nothing but a UTI, but I'm praying that you find a solution soon.

It can be normal to not poop that long, but if he's not peeing at least 6-8 times in 24 hours.... it can be extremely dangerous and even fatal.
