my 3 y/o continues to throw tantrums regardless of the many different strategies i have tried. he screams at me, he lashes out at those around him (his older brother or other kids at daycare), he throws toys or other objects that are close to him.....I am at my breaking point!!!! I love my son, but i NEED to figure out how to help us!!!!

If the behaviors are seen across multiple settings, and many stragities have been looked into (by you and professionals at the day care) maybe it is time to take a different approach - look at diet (that'd be were I would start) a little one in my family reacts, for example, to red dye. She goes from a calm gentle child, to an out of control screaming yelling, hitting biting, head slamming bundle of furry.
I have seen other kids react to mike with behaviors that 'seem' autistic in nature.
I might bring in the family doc - I am not suggesting you have the kid labeled, stay away from that .... just look at other causes. Good luck

Molly, have you spoken to a health care professional? There may be an underlying issue there. It would be good to find out if there's anything so that you can help your son and the rest of the family.
If there's no underlying issue, they may be able to point you to somewhere you can get help on behavioural problems.
All the best.

I agree with Juleah, first try a diet change. Red Dye is a bad thing in my home, as well as processed food. I see a huge difference in all my kids when they have ate processed food or red dye. It will take at least 2 weeks before you will notice a change if its a diet issue.

If you dont notice a difference I would for sure speak to your family doctor, since the behaviour is through out your sons day, with many different people, it could be something that medication might help.

JuLeah's suggestion is a good one. I have a good friend who eliminated all food dyes from her son's diet, and the results were dramatic.
