Hi just wanted to get a few of your opinons on this 5 month old daughter is always sick after feeds..sometime loads sometime a little..since she was born!

I obv consulted my midwife in the first instance but was told you just get sicky babies sometimes..something to do with the size of their throat??

I am now weaning her as she is ready...but the sick still hasn't stopped.

Has anyone else had this problem..and do you think there could be something wrong although i've been assured there isn't!! lol

Look forward to hearing your responses....

Hey my baby is 18 weeks and keeps being really sick after each bottle, I started weaning him as he try's eating everything in sight, my health advisor said weaning isn't need till 6 months how ever he is never sick after a bowl of baby porridge but when I give him. Bottle he is constantly sick, I took him to the doctors they said nothing is wrong any suggestions on what I can do.

hi salma,
i am also a mum of a spewy baby. we used a thickened formula designed for reflux and it has made such a difference. molly still throws up daily but the amount is less and she is happier and more comfortable. we also raised the end of her cot by placing phone books under the legs. we also tend to keep her upright after feeds, either sitting or playing in her exersaucer.
infacol is also handy for removing air from bottles (but can also be used if breast feeding) and has stopped us from having to many major projectile vomits!
hope it all settles for you before too long - molly is 9 months now and we seem to be over the worst of it so there is light at the end of the tunnel

you can try making sure the cot matress is elevated so put a pillow under it, keep her upright for feeds and for up to 30 minutes afterwards, give solids before the bottle so that there is something to line her stomach or put rice cereal in her bottle.

mine has been throwing up majority of her feeds since she was 3 weeks and shes now 14 and a half months. she coated the floor at my cousins baby shower today :( sometimes it just happens they are born with it and grow out of it eventually but its a long hard wait

alot of children are very sick, as long shes still putting on the weight i would not worry to much, with my children it went when they started moving around, but if you are worried take her to see your health visitor or doctor
