My 5 month old hasn't pooped in 3 days, is this normal?

I have a 5 month old that has been eating rice cereals in his bottles and eating solids for about a month now. In the beginning he seemed to poop a little less but nothing that worried me. Now the last couple weeks it's been getting less and less. 4th day last week and now we are on our 3rd day. Any suggestions and /or should I be concerned?

"food before 1 is just for fun".

He's most likely constipated, and painfully so, because you've been feeding solids and cereal. Most likely, you've been cutting out formula or breast milk because you're feeding solids.

Nutrients, at this age, are mainly gained from breast milk or formula. One of the reasons it's not recommended to begin solids as a nutrition source prior to 12 months is because their digestive systems are not sophisticated enough to handle the complex foods.

Stop feeding solids & cereal. Liquid diet. And ask your pediatrician for other recommendations.
