i started cereal at 4 months and didnt start adding bananas till he was about 5 1/2 months... Weve been trying different foods and he loves all of them and seems to want more then just a tablespoon.. he is pushing my breast away which according to his fathers mother this happened to her with all three of her sons at 6 months.. i feed him formula but i dont like to supplement with formula and was kind of relieved he liked solids in hope we could avoid more formula..

how much solids is okay for a 6 month old a day?

A small amount once a day is fine. If you want to cut down on the formula it would be better to start offering the breast more (if at all possible) and the bottle and solids less. The more he uses formula and/or solids.... the less breast milk you will produce. If you were already having production issues... the cycle will most likely just worsen.
