Our son started crying uncontrollably at night, started 3 nights ago and has had horrible gas. He is also teething.....I am a new mommy and don't know what to do! I am not sure if this is normal or if he needs to be seen. I would appreciate any advice!

Sorry to hear that I know it is disheartening when they are so little and yet so uncomfortable. For gas other than burping there are a few other suggestions that can help. Move the baby's legs in a motion as though he was cycling. It helps move gas bubbles as gas travels at any age. There is also a product if worse comes to worse called Gripe Water that works well. There are several versions of it. The original gas drops were made of simethicone (old school), then there are others that are supplements. Try to find the homeopathic ones like Colic Calm. I used to find it in Walgreens and CVS. Its a more natural approach and helps relieve trapped gas, colic, etc. It actually even works with teething infants.
I would also suggest that you start keeping a journal to see if it is a reoccurring thing. It isn't uncommon for allergies or reflux to develop in infants. Even infants that have been on the same milk source since birth can develop resistance to it later. I would certainly bring the concerns to his pediatrician - it never hurts to make sure the Dr. is aware and to get their take. Hope your little one feels better soon!
