My 8 year old daughter who is in the second grade is really struggling with math. She is really struggling with subtraction of large numbers mainly regrouping of large numbers. I welcome any suggestions, tips or tricks that may help her improve her math skills.

The new trend in math is the common core standard, which IMO is super confusing. Is she doing the regrouping of tens, or is she carrying the ten to the ones column? Does that even make sense? For an 8 year old, I'd not worry too much about her being a bit behind, sometime these sort of spacial concepts take a bit to click. For my kids, I busted out a pile of pennies and grouped them in sets of ten and ones and being able to actually see the physical regrouping helped quite a bit.
