My daughter had polka dots all over her body when he turned 13 months, she had a fever of 102.5 but didn't seem very sick. The bumps kinda felt raised so I thought it was chicken pox. I called the doctors office and she had to look through medical books to find it. She called it scarlet fever, then they tested her for strep throat. it came back negative but the doctor was pretty sure it was scarlet fever and strep throat. She told me to put calamine lotion all over her and give her warm oatmeal baths.

My daughter also had spotty rash on her bottom and private area, I used diaper rash cream and it would go away come back, go away and come back worse. The doctor prescribed her clomitrazole cream and it went away.

If he's running a fever it could be scarlet fever. Clomitrazole is an anti-fungal (yeast infection treatment).

If he's running a fever ask the doctor to do a strep test (it's a swab in the back of the throat).

When my son was 12 months old, he had an itchy rash (not raised, his skin looked mottled) that started on his torso and spread to his arms and legs and a little bit to his face. I thought for sure it was the measles, but the doc said no. Basically he just told me to wait it out. Sure enough, a week later it was gone. I still don't know what it was.

You don't believe that it's yeast? Or the cream isn't working? Or why do you ask?

If it's itchy, some baking soda in the bath helps.

Yup my 5 year old had scarlet fever too in January. Sometimes with babies it can just be baby acne or a heat rash from fever.
