There is a website that can be helpful for understanding language development, I've used it as a source for teaching Year 11& 12 students in supporting language development in children. It identifies the average milestones (remember every child is different), and also has information on encouraging their language, so you may find it helpful:

Pretty young for words yet. My daughhter did not start really until she was well over a year. She is putting words together a bit now, and she is over 2.

He's a baby, baby's don't talk. at 10 months, you're expecting a lot if you expect words. Mama and Dada can come around a year, and 18 months should have 5-10 words. You have TONS of time.

He's still really young, give him some time. Just keep talking to him, all the time. Repeat words over and over. He'll get there.

Totally normal. Just keep talking to him. As a guide, they really don't start saying single words until about 12 months. I'm assuming he is "babbling"? If so, he is totally on track.
