My baby born on Jan 2013, 2 months hve gone, still he didnt drink breast milk. initially he was given formula feeding in the hospital for two days. so the problem came. now he completely hesitates to drink breast milk. . he cries a lot while giving breast milk. Moreover, wen i used pump, enough breast milk is not coming. Now i got afraid that whether breast milk will stop. I suggest doctor also, they said "try and try again, he ll drink" like that doctor told. But he s not ready to drink. Two days I ve stopped formula also, even then he s crying a lot but not ready to drink breast milk. He closed his mouth completely while giving breast milk and pushing me with his hand.

What to do for that and wat to do for getting excess breast milk and is there any drawback that he s not drinking breast milk with his energy and strength. Please help me.

I lose my faith that he ll drink breast milk. Please help me

If he won't breastfeed, don't force it. If he hasn't had any formula for 2 days, and is not nursing, he's got to be getting dehydrated! If your baby doesn't have any major health problems and will drink the formula, give it to him.

If you want to try to supplement the formula with breastmilk, you could try mixing them together in his bottle. Pumping frequently might help increase your supply, but if you are tense and upset, your milk will probably not let down very well.

You've obviously tried very hard to stick with breastfeeding, but if it's just not working, don't beat yourself up about it. Your baby will be fine drinking formula and you are still a good mom :)
