My daughter 8 years old and her friend (girl) are curious about each others bodies

My daughter approached me about this the other day about her and her friend taking off their clothes, and looking at each others body. She said they didn't touch each other, should I be upset about this, or just let it go? She thought she was going to be in trouble. Her group of friends think that hugging and kissing is sex.

Getting upset or letting it go would both be on opposite extremes... IMO, and neither is a good response.

She needs to know that it's natural and normal to be curious, but it is not appropriate to be getting naked w/ people and checking out their bodies. Now is a great time to talk to her about privacy, how no one should be touching her body (except doctor or parent when absolutely necessary), and the changes that her body will be going through soon... if not already.

I don't think you should be upset but I think it is time for you to sit down with her and explain to her about her body and the changes she will be starting in the near future since she is curious let her ask questions and answer her honestly.
