Single parent or no, YOU ARE THE PARENT. You have to set the rules, and you HAVE to enforce them.

I agree with Raye. YOu are the parent and you have to make her mind you. She is basically walking over you because you are not doing much to make sure she is getting what she needs. i know single parenthood is hard as I have a friend who has raised three and two are teens now. And her kids knew they had to do what she expected of them including going to school, doing homework, and following house rules or else they would be in trouble with her. But I do not think it makes a difference if you are a single parent or parenting with the other parent....if the parents do nothing the kids get awayw with things.

Start by setting a curfew. In by 8 until grades improve. No phone, no iPad, no internet use except right where you can see it and no driving privileges. You need to get her to school, that is your responsibility; to force her to go to school. Have you spoken to the school for help?

You should be a parent and make her do what she should be doing. Have rules and consequences. If she's skipping school, report her to the school or proper authorities for truancy... otherwise YOU could be fined for her missing school (depending on laws where you live). Yes, being a single parent is tough. But you are the one responsible for making sure your daughter is taught life lessons that will carry over to adulthood, so she can be a responsible adult. You have to teach her right from wrong.
