She is almost 7 mos and has been eating rice cereal with veggies or fruit mixed in with it for almost 2 months now. It has just been this week where she will not eat it anymore not matter if it's a fruit mix or a veggie mix. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so what did you do to fix it?

I agree with Laura ....try the switch to oatmeal cereal.
It might just be that your daughter is finally realizing that rice cereal tastes like cardboard.
(that stuff tastes nasty ! - LOL!)

After rice cereal, my kids seemed to favor the apple oatmeal or banana oatmeal.

There are also barley based cereals as well.

She's probably just ready to move past the rice stage.

maybe she's just not hungry. i always used to freak out that my kid wouldn't have a bottle yet i'd keep feeding him food. i stopped feeding him one of his meals and he started having his milk again.

My little guy would gag on meat until he at least had the front teeth to tear it (even though I gave him super-tiny soft pieces), so I pureed until he had at least 2 front teeth. Yes, he used his gums in the back to mush it up, but he gagged easily before those front teeth came in for some reason! Every child is different, though. He was probably just a slow learner with meat:o)

She's ready to move onto more interesting things, even soft finger foods such as banana. Babies use their gums to chew before they have teeth

I never did rice cereal with my son. I stuck with oatmeal. She'll be fine without it. You can try some other options. She might be getting bored with the rice flavor! My son got tired of the oatmeal after a while, so we cut out cereal and stuck with fruit, veggies and meat (pureed until he had enough teeth).

you can also try farley's biscuits cereal, it was the only stuff my son would eat, and they make a great snack for teething babies.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I bought her Oatmeal cereal yesterday and mixed it with green beans and she did about half of what she used to take. She hasn't gotten any teeth in yet so I don't believe that is the "eating" issue. But I will take everyones suggestions into consideration. Thank you

She's 7 months old try giving her yogurt w/fruit or regular oat meal (maple & brown sugar) ect.... I couldn't eat the same cereal for 7 months. I'm a mom of 5 aged 25yrs old - 3years old - People think baby's shouldn't eat real food because they don't have teeth but trust me kids can eat quite a lot with out teeth. eggs, cherrios fruit loops - good luck

Have you tried switching to the oatmeal cereal? She may just be bored with it. Is she constipated at all? Has she started teething? These things can change a baby's eating patterns as well. If you really have concerns about her eating habits call your doctor or pediatrician for advise. hope this helps a bit and good luck!

Maybe she is now aware of the texture in it, try leaving it out and giving her extra carbs outside of eating the fruits and veggies. My daughter also did this and I just stopped feeding it to her.
