Wow...Potty training occurs when she shows she's ready to try. Around the 2-3 year mark, although some go earlier.
8 weeks is definitely too young. They do not understand, nor do they have even nominal bladder/sphincter control at that age!
Since you're a first time, let me share with you: DON'T rush your child. They develop at their own pace. They make messes. They don't eat 'real' food like you do. They aren't little adults, nor should they be expected to be. They are loud at times, and boisterous, and you WANT them to be that way at times.
Patience is key.
You'll do fine ;-)
