My 3.5 year old daughter out of no where has started to pee and poop on the floor. She's been potty trained for over a year now. We still have a few accidents at night. But now, she has started to relieve herself in her room half of the time, then sometimes she will be in the bathroom and poop on the carpet next to the toilet. Then the other half of the time, she will actually use the potty. I almost feel like she is doing out of laziness and watching her older brother (almost 8), who will be playing a game or whatever, and because he doesnt want to stop what he's doing will purpously pee on himself. How do I fix this? I have have tried taking away the games and tv from my son as a punishment, but it only works until we allow him to play the games again. So how do I stop her from reflecting what he is doing?

How long do you take the games away from your son? I have to say that it is bad with the 3 year old, but completely inexcusable with the 8 year old. I would take them away for at least a month. And if keeps happening, I would just give them away permanently. Also, it could be a rule that he has to go to the bathroom before he plays a game. The 3 year old should receive consequences for her behavior as well. Also, make HER clean it up. (Obviously watch her and make sure she cleans herself up afterwards.) Explain about germs to her and why we want to be clean...your son as well. DON'T scream and yell, even though you may be angry. Just deliver the promised consequences methodically.
