Potty training isn't just about a child's mental ability to understand what it is. They also need to be physically, emotionally, and socially ready to be able to learn it. On average, boys train between 3 1/2 and 4 years old and girls at 2 1/2 to 3 years old. Although there are kids who will do it sooner or later than this. It doesn't sound to me as if she is ready yet. Make sure you have a little potty for her, encourage her to come in the bathroom with you, offer her to sit on the potty while you do. If she says no, don't force it, that will cause more problems for you than good. There should never be discipline around potty training. If she isn't showing signs of readiness, then she isn't ready. Wait until she starts showing signs of readiness, like sitting on the potty on her own (usually they'll do this with clothes on to start). Remember, kids need to learn things in their own time and on their own schedule, not yours. She just isn't there yet.
