My kid is the epitomy of the terrible two toddler. What to do?

She constantly tells me 'no.' She kicks and swings at me. She throws fits in public. Do I spank? I try time outs and I do explain to her why she is in time out. I do not like to yell at her, but I do not know how else to get her attention. We have moved and this has been a trying transition for both of us. But my anxiety levels are through the roof. Some ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My advice is, don't spank her. This behaviour is very typical of toddlers and considering your recent move, it makes sense that she's acting out. Kids will do what they can to get attention, doesn't matter if its negative or positive's attention. Try ignoring her when she's being demanding. If she's kicking or swinging at you, pick her up and move her to a safe area or to her room for some quiet time until she calms down and stops kicking. When you're out and she throws a tantrum, try to ignore it at first, but if it persists then I suggest leaving the store and taking her outside to cool down or take her to the car so she can have a time-out or just simply go home. It's incredibly frustrating and I've had my share of struggles and battles recently. My son is 3.5 and he definitely knows how to test the limits.
