My kids did not like the seatbelt I found beltlock a plastic devise that stops kids opening the belt. Its on amazon

My oldest son did the same thing at about the same age, yes he could undo the "clip" at the top of the straps. I would make sure it was positioned right, and by the time e ere 5 minutes away from the house he was un clipped. The problem was, he could slide the clip by himself to where he could work the clips. Finally, after trying the " don't undo it or we go home" or " you on't get to .." I took a needle and thread and literally stiched the clip in place on the straps so that he couldn't move them. The tantrums started but eventually he just stopped bothering with it and sat still. Good luck.

Are the straps tight enough? You should only be able to put 2 fingers between the straps and your child. Anything else is too loose. The clip across the front should be at armpit level which should stop her from getting her arms out. Otherwise, you may need to invest in a different car seat that has straps which fit her better. The Radian is great and has stopped my son from getting his arms out.

How in the world does she even get out of her seat if she's buckled in?! Can she actually un buckle it by herself? I even find it hard to undo some carseat belts so I find it hard to believe that any young child would be able to get out of the seat unless it's not buckled properly.

The first thing to do is to make sure you check that the seat is installed properly and that the harness is also positioned to fit your daughter and adjusted properly. She shouldn't have enough wiggle room to crawl out of it. If there is enough "give" in the harness or seatbelt, it will not protect her in the event of an accident.

If it is a 5 point harness, it should fit snug against her sternum and be properly adjusted for height. If you are using your cars seat belt as the harness, make sure that you are using the bracket that also came with the car seat that tightens and locks the seat belt into place. Also make sure that if you are using your cars seat belt, that it is the type that is safe to use with your carseat.  Again, it should be a snug fit.

My advice would be to read the manual that came with the carseat or call the company and ask for another one if you no longer have it. Also, many police, state police and fire houses offer to check out your carseat and the way you have it placed for free to ensure that they are properly and safely installed.

My daughter did that. One day I told her we were going to her fave place (kid zone) but she had to stay in her seat or she would go home to stay with the sitter while I went with the rest of the kids. She had 3 chances. Everytime she climbed out, I pulled over. Reminded her she had to stay in her seat or we go home. The third time we went home. The next day we tried again. Took 3 attempts before she got the message that unless she stayed in her seat, she would be staying home while everone else got to go. Haven't had a problem since. I had to arrange for a friend to stay with her at home and to have other kids along so she felt left out and it was hard to do but worked.

My daughter never climbed out she just HATED being in it so

I brought my car seat inside and let her play in it without being locked in she could climb in and out at free will, it made the car rides so much nicer without the first 10 mins screaming!

How old is she? When my friend's daughter did that the carseat company (Britax) sent her a kit that somehow changed the harness to make it more difficult to get out of.
