Thank u very much for the advice I will just start cutting back on the bottle and giving him the sippy only until he goes to bed and at nap time :)

The reason why they say no bottle after a year at the most is because a bottle can mess up a child's teeth. It can cause them to have buck teeth and can even cause the teeth to rot if the bottle has anything in it that can leak out into the child's mouth. Plus it's a choking hazard if a child takes a bottle to bed with them but that's not the point.

I trained my daughter by just getting rid of all the bottles all together. She was about 11 months old when she stopped using a bottle. Of course she was mostly drinking out of a sippy cup by then anyways. My sister also did the same thing with her children as well. Now I will say that it might work and it might not work. You probably need to start cutting back down on the bottle again. Like he can only have it during a certain time of day but not for the rest of the day.

My son will only go to bed with a bottle he is 20 months. He wont take milk in a sippy cup. i think your doctor is wrong to say he HAS to be off the bottle.there is no law saying when a child should be off the bottle. some just transistion easier then others.
