My son is 9 months old and has no interest in crawling....
My son is 9 months old and has no interest in crawling. He used to get on his hads and knees and rock but now just worms around the house like anyother child who crawls. Is there something wrong with this?

My daughter pretty much did the "army crawl" on her belly until the day she walked.

My daughter scooted like a monkey, weirdest thing I had ever seen. She started to do a "normal"crawl about a month after she started walking.

There are actually many styles of "crawling." Drawling is simply considered movement on the floor to get to an object or destination. The traditional, up on all 4s. Commando, which is using the arms one over the other and toes to push forward. Butt scoot, where the child sits and pushes forward with their arms to move them forward. Worming, where the child kind of gets up a little and throws himself forward. Rolling, they just roll everywhere. Etc... As long as he has a desire to get to something or somewhere he wants, and has devised his own method of doing so, then he's totally developmentally on track. Many children find what works for them and never move to traditional crawling.

There is nothing wrong with him or the situation in general. Some babies crawl or scoot and others skip it and go straight to walking.

Something to keep in mind is all children develop at their own pace they go forward and slide back as they do. Sometimes they start to go forward then decide to work on something else and the first thing gets sent to the back burner. So If it was me I wouldnt worry to much. If you are worried or see other developmental delays in addition to this talk to his dr, its better to be safe.

Out of four of my sons only one learnt to crawl and that was the day after he started walking. Mine just went from sit stand to walk and missed out the crawling stage completely its perfectly normal.

No there is nothing wrong with it, he's developed a way to get around that works for him! My daughter scooted on her butt, my daughter was 14 months before she actually crawled, the day after she started crawling she started walking, they all do things at there own pace!

Don't worry bout it think of it this way my so was 1 when he started crawling and he was 2 when he was walking so he will get there just have faith in him my son is fine and is doing everything he needs to now he is 6 years old.

No nothing wrong. He will get going when he is ready. Don't push him. If you think there might be a developmental problem please speak to your health professional about it.
