Do you not like your own name? There's a good place to start.

Have you looked at any baby books? There are plenty of sources online as well.

Why don't you and your husband each make a list of 25 names that you really like. Then compare the lists, and any of the ones that you both wrote down go onto a third list. That third, wittled down list might go a long way in figuring what styles each of you like.

My brother and SIL had this issue, and they did the list thing and ended up with Madeline Grace. Now, my SIL was due a few days ago w/ their second child and I hope they've been able to find another name they like!

My husband and I each had a name we liked, but couldn't agree. Once our daughter was born we realised she didn't look like either of those names, and both tried to pick a different name - and we both came up with Jacquelyn! For a middle name you could use your middle name or your name, or another family name you like eg your mums name or your nans name. Same for a boy - use your husbands middle name as his middle name etc.

Have a think about the kids you know - and then don't pick one of those names! You don't want something really common. Also try googling baby names - you will come up with good pages.

Last bit of advice - think about what acronym the initials will make, and what nicknames the child might be called. If you like Nicholas, but couldn't live with him being called Nicky or Nico - you might want a different name!

Me and the father have decided to name our boy Michael.. after the father and the grandfather.. We've also picked other names out for future boys. What we did was put the first names of our grandfathers together to come up with cute names like William James and Joshuah Tyler
