So happy I found this group. We're brand new to the Adventist denomination. We have found a lovely church in our town after hearing some truths that our current church is glossing over. We're seeking a deeper relationship with Christ and feel very welcomed by the Adventist church. In addition to this big step into a new church, we just found out last night that we're expecting. All my good friends are either in another state or part of our old church. What are the thoughts of the Adventists regarding pregnancy and childbirth? Are there any tools from the church to help us????? Any and all advice is welcomed! Oh, and we're about 6 weeks pregnant. 😇

I would say reach out to your pastor, or church support groups.
Personally, I wouldn't allow ANY religion to dictate what I do during my pregnancy, but then again, I'm a non denominational Christian, and my church doesn't dictate things like this.
Generally an elder in your church would have a great idea, or would know where to steer you for guidance.
Good luck and God Bless!

I think they pretty much believe what most conservative Christian faiths believe, in the sanctity of marriage, traditional family, raising your children in the faith. Aside from that you'd have to consult an elder from the church itself.
ETA: here is a link to the Seventh Day Adventist community

Have you reached out to your new pastor?

You might have better luck posting in one of the Christian Mom's pages on this website. Go to the top left of this page where it says 'communities' and hover your mouse over that to find 'join communities'. Click that and search for what you want.
I can tell you that I was raised in the Seventh-Day Adventist church (switched to nondenominational Christian almost 2 decades ago though), but I have zero knowledge of any 'special' thoughts or tools on pregnancy and childbirth based on the church. Babies are certainly a blessing... but pretty much everyone agrees w/ that.
