non-traditional baby shower for second child, it it ok?

I was a single mom until I met a wonderful man who is very excited about being a father figure to my daughter, and even more now because we are pregnant.

I feel bad not having a baby shower because it's my second child, but is my husband's first and I think it's not the baby's fault that he/she is coming in second.

I was thinking of throwing a welcome to the world party for my second baby. No registration at the baby store, but more of a time to celebrate this pregancy with people close to us.

The thing is I feel completely lost because if go to the party supplies store everything reads "baby shower", so I need advice.

Is it tacky to use baby shower invitations even though I don't want to register for gifts? I just don't want people to think I am asking for gifts!!

any ideas?

I had a shower with my second, but others planned it. I hear this saying every once in a while, "Please no presents, your presence is enough." Maybe you could do that?
