Pain after emergency csection

[deleted account] ( 2 moms have responded )

I am 7 weeks postpartum and had to have an emergency csection due to a placenta abruption at 34 weeks. My scar healed great and I have no pain in or around it but I am having horrible pain to the right of my bellybutton in a straight line from about even with my bellybutton down to my scar. It isn't all the time but I can't sit in certain positions, can't play in the floor with my oldest (she's two) and it gets shooting, stabbing pains when I bend over. I talked to my OB at my 6 week checkup and he said maybe just nerves that hadn't healed. Anyone have this or have any clue what it is, what I can do to help it or have any idea what recovery time will be? I delivered vaginally with my first so this is all new and confusing to me. Thanks!

It can take months for c-sections to heal. There is a lot of internal tissue that need to heal, which takes longer than the external scar.

I had numbness and sparadic pain for about 12 months after my c section but things settled after that. It is nerve endings that are sensative. If the pain is unbearable then go back to the doctors again and see what they say.
