Play dates vs. playing by himself for only child aged 9

My son is very social. I am an introvert. He could party/play all day and night. He loves to talk, play music, play Wii, dance, sports, be silly. He's normal. So am I. Hard to find a balance where I get enough peace and quiet and he gets enough time with friends. How do I get him to be okay playing by himself? He has AD/HD, but is well regulated with meds.
