I need help, I am a working mom of a now 4 1/2 months old baby girl who is eating twice what I pump in a day. I never lost my menstrual cycle so this does not help as my milk supply always dips prior to ovulation and then again prior to the actual menses.
I am taking Fenugreek and Sesame Seeds to try and increase my supply and I am considering using Domperidone. I pump at work every three hrs even though she eats every two because I cannot do it more often. What else can I do? I am going to start her on solids this weekend to see if it helps but I feel awful. I wanted to exclusively breastfeed until 6 months.

The domperidone is worth a try. I see a lot of mothers go through this when their children are about 4 months old. The babies are gearing up for a growth spurt and become almost insatiable.

If the Domperidone doesn't work, it may be worth considering a tiny bit of supplementation, just to get her through the growth spurt. You can give her formula in a cup if you're worried about her developing nipple confusion. (Just hold a clean Dixie cup up to her lips and let tiny dribbles of formula go into her mouth.) Obviously, feed her from the breast first, but if she's still hungry, then at least it'll help satiate her.
