I'm looking for something for my 10 week old baby to sleep in. He's sleeping in a pack n play right now in our room but it only holds up to 16 lbs and he's 14 lbs 10oz. . I'm trying to avoid putting him in the bed with us. Any suggestions??

I used a bassinet (found one in really good condition at a yard sale, checked it carefully for safety and cleaned it before use!) and used it until my daughter was 4 months old. I'm not sure how much she weighed, but many bassinets will hold more than 16 lbs.

She slept very well in it, I think the small space helped her feel secure. When she outgrew it we used a Pack 'n' play for a little while, but she didn't seem comfortable in it, and she is now adjusting to a crib (we got ours from Ikea).

We had an issue with our crib and had to use a pack-n-play for a little while. What we did was go to a furniture upholsterer and have a piece of 5 inch thick foam used for cushions cut to the size of the bottom of the pack-n-play. We bought a waterproof 'mattress' cover for the cushion and used it in the pack-n-play as a mattress. It worked really well for us.
