Potty Training

My son is 2 years old, he will be 3 in October and I am having a really hard time potty training him. He's extremely smart for his age, but refuses to ask to use the potty. He knows when he has to go but yet he refuses to ask. Instead he will take his pull up off and pee on his toys, in his room, on the floor but yet he won't sit on the potty. Any suggestions ????

Have you thought that maybe he is not yet ready as well? Just because a child is smart at this age does not mean they are truly ready for the potty training. It is also something they can control was well. Also, at this age their body is not developed yet enough to control those habits of having to use the bathroom. It might be more time until he is actually ready.

Have you tried putting a potty chair in his room and have him help you clean up every time he pees where he's not supposed to?
