pulling hair clips out

I've been letting my daughter's hair grow out long but I need to put clips in her hair for her bangs but recently she's been pulling them out and it's annoying when i keep putting them back on. She's 16 months old, if that helps. Anyone have any ideas what I should do??

I used the no-pull rubber bands when my girls were little. they would pull them out occasionally but not often. The clips that you're using may be uncomfortable. I always did my daughters' hair and they always had long hair. I would even put their hair in sponge rollers overnight. It's just a matter of finding something comfortable and training.

Good Luck!

I bought those tiny plastic bands and made my 17 month old's signature hairstyle be a straight up ponytail on top of her head with her bangs. Sometimes she'd pull it out at naptime, but she must've really worked at it for a while. I was surprised that she'd hold still for me to put it in, but she did. (We just cut her bangs and I'm sort of missing it!)

My daughter used to do that too. In fact, she's now 5 and she STILL pulls hair ties, etc out. I've kept her hair in a shorter style and don't bother most the time. It's not worth the effort :) She knows she is only allowed to grow her hair long when she will leave her hair ties and clips in. At the rate she is going she won't have long hair until she is an adult!

Yup, I had the same thing happen, and I just did what Kate said... I stopped putting clips in her hair. I ended up just getting it cut short... my daughter will have short hair until she's old enough to keep the clips in. It's a lot easier that way. You just need to pick your battles.

Stop putting clips in her hair. Look, she's got hands, she's a toddler, and it's her own hair. You're never going to be able to get her to stop pulling the clips out unless you super glue them in place. I'd just give up, personally.
