Relationship changed after he stopped his addiction

After being with an addict (not knowing all the full time), he quit. But he did not go any further. He still has learned behaviors that overlap on our lives. As it is now, it's like we live in the same house but he has his life, I have mine. He doesnt feel or believe that he needs the counseling or therapy or whatever to UN-learn his addiction behaviors. He says its me...he always says it's me. He has an adult daughter (almost 40) who has a child (14), she has never married. She was estranged from him since she was 9 and suddenly came back around 10 years ago. She is manipulative and he doesn't mind because he wants her in his life so he does what she says, when she says it. They vacation together every year for the past 8 years and I am not permitted to go because she doesn't like me. That's ok with him because he wants her to stay around. I gave up emotionally and forced myself to say I don't care. I do and I cry alot but he isn't affected by it at all. I feel lost and alone with him. I'm not a youngster but I'm not ready for Shady Pines either....LOLOL

Unfortunately you are accepting his behaviour, so he doesn't see a need to change. He is putting his daughter above you and he will always continue doing that. From the sounds of it you need therapy at least to help you deal with the emotional abuse you're enduring.
