Remembering baby

A co-worker went into premature labor at 25 weeks. Her baby lived briefly but died after a valiant fight.

We bought flannel to have 4 baby blankets made (umbrellas/rain, monsters, paisley birds, and planets/solar system). My question is this: would it be wrong to have all flannel sewed into 1 blanket for mom and give to her as a rememberancd on the baby's due date? We don't want to cause pain by doing this but instead want to comfort mom with a warm embrace and a memory.

I would give it to her before the due date. Letting her know that you want this to be a warm embrace and a memory. That way she can wrap herself in that blanket whenever she needs to between now and then and even after. The baby's due date is going to be a hard day for her. It might be better to just send flowers or a nice card saying that you are thinking about her today and saying a little prayer. She might want to keep that day low key and without much attention on what that day really was......even though that is what she will be thinking about that day. For her it will be just trying to get through that day and having people not point out what day it is might be more of what she wants......not ignoring the day, but just being a low key support.
