retracting the foreskin and infections

Hi all mums, my son is 10 months old and he had a urinary infection when he was 6 months, we used oral antibiotics and it cleared up. My sons foreskin was very tight around the top and he didn't wee properly, but now it looks normal. Now we went to see a urologist surgeon and he retracted the foreskin on my son's penis to look for an infection and caused it to bleed a little, and it looked horrible to me and looks like he now irritated the skin as it is a bit red at the tip now and it wasn't before. The doctor prescribed 8 weeks of 0.1 topical corticosteroid. we are not happy with this decision as we don't want to use any steroid creams. But now we also don't want to do the circumcision. I don't know what to do, anyone has the same situation?

I would definitely seek a second opinion, a doctor who wants to circumcise because of one urinary tract infection seems extreme. I also wouldn't trust a doctor who forcefully retracts the skin, he should no better.

Have you considered a second opinion? Personally I never had to deal with this since both my boys are circumcised, but if you're not happy with what the doctor ordered then I would go for a second opinion.
