My son is going to be 7 weeks old this thursday and i am wanting to see if he will eat some rice cereal off of a spoon or mixed in with his bottle. I want him to be a little more full at bedtime so he won't be waking up as often? My friend had given hef son one spoonful and then his bottle about an hour later when he was only a month old. In my opinion that was too early. What is yoir opinion about giving my son some rice cereal at 7 weeks old?

Cereal is not to be given until at least 4 months old. Some doctors now are saying to wait until 6 months. Their tummies are not developed enough to digest cereal until then. Cereal should only be given by spoon and a baby is physically not ready to eat from a spoon until 4 to 5 months old. Their to tongue can't do what it needs to do until then.
