Rice Cereal and Sleep Advice

My husband seems to think that we should stop feeding our daughter rice cereal before bed. She is 7 months old and it has been apart of her bedtime routine since she started with food. She has nights where she is up at night and he thinks it is waking her up. Every night is not the same, some times she sleeps more then others. I should mention when she does wake it is not to play, she will fall back asleep or I will feed her and shes back sleeping. At bedtime is the only time she gets it and she does get other food at supper time. I just need my sleep back and I need to know what I can do!

Cereals are not able to be digested in babies. It may make them feel fuller for longer, but it gives them no nutrition. Babies need all the nutrition they can get for their growing brains and bodies, and that includes some nighttime feedings for the time being. You may need to try to grab naps at other times during the day, or wait it out until she gets more consistent with her night time sleep habits. It won't last forever.

It is normal for a child this age to be up and down all night. Feeding cereal at bedtime is not a guarentee of her sleeping all night and she should not be getting it to fill her belly up. You are just going to have to let this play out.
