As ong as it isn't too thick and your baby can still get it out, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure if it's exactly recommended, but we did it with my daughter for a bit.
There is a cereal feeding kit that has a specialized bottle so you can introduce cereal to your baby in a familiar form. We didn't find it til after my daughter was on baby food and oatmeal, though.

My children started rice cereal from a spoon at 6 months. Check with your baby's doctor. Only she knows when the time will be right for your baby.

Also, what age did you start feeding the rice cereal by spoon, some say 4 months and others say wait until 6 months.

You can do it but I don't know if there is any good reason to do it. It doesn't help your baby sleep longer (tried it with mine) and it's better to just start them on eating the cereal the regular way. If you really want to they have special bottles for it.

No no no no no!!! Babies need to learn to eat solids from a spoon, and not before 4 months old (and only then if they are showing signs of readiness and you get the all clear from your doctor).

It is a common misconception that cereal in a bottle helps a baby sleep longer. Studies have shown this to be false. Not only is a young baby's gut not ready to digest anything but milk, but it can create food confusion when you later start trying to introduce spoon feeding.
