my 2 1/2 has ringworm where could she have gotten it and how can we prevent it from happening again

Yeah, talk to the pediatrician. I got ringworm once when I was 20, my friend tattooed me in her house and we didn't wrap it, and the house was dirty plus I played with her new stray kitten... so who knows exactly HOW I got it, but I had ringworm on my new tattoos. I used the anti-fungal cream for athlete's foot (I forget the brand name), and it cleared it up. BUT since your daughter is so young I'd definitely clear it with the pediatrician first!

It's a fungal infection. He/she could have gotten it any where. Treat it with a topical antifungal approved by your pediatrician.
