I am considering watching one child, full time, in my home so that I can stay at home with my son. how do I balance my own childs doctors visits if I have another child with me all week?

I used to watch someone elses children. She had a son a little older then my son and a daughter that was about 7 or 8 at the time. During the summer I would just take the other 2 kids with me to dr apts and such. Usually didnt have any then though. If it was one of my dr apts I would ask a friend to go with me. If my son was sick I knew that she had another sitter if she needed her. I always knew that she had a back up and I knew the lady too so I needed to drop them off I could. lol. I had one time even left my son over there b/c I had a gyno apt and couldnt find anyone for my son. LOL. I would talk to her and find out just how flexible she is.

I don't look after someone elses child but I do have 2 of my own.

I would find out if the other mother was able to be flexible and look after her own child or have someone else mind them while you attended doctors appointments.

Other than that the only other thing you can do is take the other child with you. You'd have to take another child if you had more than one yourself.
