Hello, my name is Yanie and I recently joined Circle of Moms. Our 5.5 yr old daughter has a cluster-like seizure every morning when she awakens. They are very similiar to infantile spasms, which she developed when she was 5 months old. Because of her age though, her neuro said that these cluster seizures are most likely NOT infantile spams. We were relieved because infantile spasms cause instant regression. But we still don't have an answer as to what kind of seizures they are. Our daughter was recently diagnosed with Lennox-Gasteau syndrome and has tonic seizures and also complex partial seizures. Do any of you have an idea as to what the cluster like seizures may be? If so, what medication do you recommend? We were told by her neuro to try Vigabatrin again or we could try the vagal nerve stimulator.
As far as meds go, our daughter takes Topomax and Depakote, but has been on ACTH, Vigabatrin, Trileptol, Banzel, Prednisone, and Phenobarbital.
Thanks in advance!
