My ex and I were together almost 5 years and things have been so stressed fir a long time. We has lost all of our savings, our car that was repossessed, lost our home. Left us with nothing! He is in his 40's and I am 36yrs old. For the past few years I have been a stay at home mom. I did have a great full-time job before I left. But I am just so lucky that I have my parents whom for a short time are allowing me and my toddlers reside here. Trying to figure a way to get back on my feet. I need a stable home, a vehicle in order to get to a real job and a great job. I am so worried right now, I d o not want to go on welfare because I feel I may get stuck in that cycle and not be able to provide everything I need for my kids and I.....

Don't feel bad about having to get government assistance. There are people that abuse the system, but there are other's that actually use it for what it was intended and get back on their feet. After my mom and dad divorced, my mom had to go on welfare to help support us (mom, me and sister). With help from family, and finding a better paying job, she was eventually able to get off assistance. You can do it too. But in the mean time, your child deserves every advantage they can have, so don't let your pride get in the way of giving your child what they need to have a better life.
