Shaving at 12

My son is 12, he has hair starting to grow on his lip so we let him shave and keep the electric small shaver in his room, in the past, years ago he would shave a piece of his eyebrow off and denies it when he was confronted, the lying was what always got him in trouble. Anyways we said Daniel don't go shave your eyebrows off, he said "I won't" ha! Guess what a piece of his eyebrow is gone he said it was an accident...(yeah right.) I took the shaver away. Now more of his eyebrow is missing and denies it! I don't get it he know he isn't suppose to do that,,, and he is a really good kid, good heart good in school, why does he still have the nerve to do something he knows he will get in trouble for?

It will grow back. Honestly, let him live with the consequence of no eyebrows. The other kids will give him enough flack that he will learn not to do it again. Personally, I would have just asked why he did it and then told him he could live with the consequences of how it looked until it grew back but that I thought it looked silly. After all, you can't keep the shaver from him forever. If he ends up shaving off his entire eyebrow "accidentally", he's the one who has to live with it.
