Should I be concerned?

I found out on May 1st that I was a little over 4 weeks pregnant. At the time of my first US I was experiencing spotting and slight bleeding. This concerned my doctor and she immediately started discussing miscarriage. Being my first pregnancy I immediately went into panic mode. The ultrasound showed the gestational sac and implantation bleeding. My dr ordered blood work and asked me to come back in 2 weeks. My HCG levels from the first blood test was 24,000 and the second test was 25,000. My second US at six weeks and 2 days showed that the gestational sac had grown and the yolk sac and embryo were present. Also the plantation bleeding had shrunk and I have not spotted for I've 10 days. However, the tech did not detect a heartbeat. My dr is still fearful that this is not a viable pregnancy due to the lack of a heartbeat. I'm a little confused because it seems like my pregnancy is progressing between US which I thought was a good sign. I have read that many women don't see or hear the hb until 7-8 weeks. Is my dr stressing me out unnecessarily this early? My fiancé was so annoyed with the dr that he wants me to do my 3rd US with a different dr to get a 2nd opinion. Has anyone had a similar experience where the dr keeps pushing miscarriage diagnosis?

That is scary stuff. Yes of course be concerned, but try not to let it overwhelm you. If getting a second opinion would make you feel better, go for it.
