Should parents go through their kids things?

I think it's okay if you're suspicious about something and want to find out about it, but snooping just to be nosey to me is wrong. I have two children ages 11 and 15, I don't snoop through their rooms and personal items, because my kids are trustworthy.

I also think snooping through their phones, personal things, tablets and etc behind their backs for no good reason can lead to trust issues with your kids. I get that parents want to be in on everything that their kids are doing, but if they are doing anything questionable, it will eventually be exposed. I personally want to have great trust in my kids and them to have trust in me. We as parents, should trust our kids until they break our trust.

If you are going to snoop, have an open and honest agreement about it. So make it clear to your kids you ARE going to check their phones periodically. And so on....
