Side Effects of Teething?

I think that my daughter is teething, but she has also had lack of appetite, upset stomach, and spitting up way more then usual. Are these side effects of teething?

Yes, they are! Eating might be hurting her teeth, and all that excess drool she's swallowing can really upset her tummy. I would suggest you try Hylands Teething Tablets, they work great! And good luck!

yes  definately ..there are lots of side effects...diapper rash hot cheeks ....u can usually tell if they are teething by looking at their gums...dont use orajel because it can cause choking...i am with emily on this one ...hylands teething tablets......all the way.....some say to put them under the toungue ......i was worried about doing that because you have to give them a few at a time i disolved them on a spoon in bottled water or juice and putit in a syringe ....and administered it that way.....worked great!!!! life saver!!!   good luck

Also, don't be surprised if your little one starts to break out with diaper rash. My first 2 that was the only way we knew a new tooth as about to start. I know alot of pediatritions say it's not a side effect, just like they say fevers aren't side effects, but They were the ONLY side effects my oldest 2 kids had when teething. My Youngest, forget it, drool, pulling at his mouth, loss of appitite and back to sleeping on about 4 hours at a time through the night. If you want to go the route of " No meds" take a baby ash cloth, et it and ring out as much ater as possible, put it in a zip lock bag and put it in the freezer... rub the baby's gums with the wash cloth ( out of the bag). I say baby wash cloth because they're less rough on the gums, but the coldness and pressure from your finger alone sometimes helps them. Good Luck!

Thank you Emily! I have been getting a little worried over the past 3 days or so. Like you said, there is definately some extra drool goin on. Also my baby has never been bad at spitting up, and over the past few days it has been quite excessive. I appreciate the input!
