Hey there, I am 20 years old, I am 22 weeks pregnant. The father of the child and I met in January and I got pregnant in February. I have not ever had a job that has lasted more than three months. I am now on welfare, as embarrasing as it is i am.Come this November I will be having a beautiful baby girl. The father has stopped talking to me so I know that it is going to be a custody battle before my poor little sweetheart is even born. I would like to be a teacher some day. I am wondering how many people out there are in the same perdiciment as I am? Also, how did you get through ?

I had a similar situation with my first child. You are going to have decide whatever it is you want to do temporarily as far as a job is concerned. Take advantage of the welfare for now, but start looking into a non-career job after you have the baby and is able to go to work. Go to school on-line because there are some really great schools on-line if you are discipline enough. I am a teacher and UOP was the best program. Go after your dreams, don't allow the baby's father absence to hinder your decision. You and the baby will be fine.
