Six months postpartum, swelling on labia..

I gave birth to my little boy six months ago, he was almost nine pounds, I had 2 degree tears on both sides of my vagina and an episiotomy on the bottom. My labia gets swollen from time to time and feels irritated, any ideas of what it might be? I believe it may have to do with the extent of stitches that were needed, plus sex has been painful since. Any input would be helpful!
