Sleep habits

I'm losing the battle with trying to my seven year old to sleep in his own room. I know I shouldn't have let it go this long but he's driving me bunkers. Any ideas mommas on what I can do??

Is he in your room or in your bed? My son was fearful and slept on a cot that we pushed under the bed during the day. He is 13 now and sleeps alone, in his room. If he is in your bed, try moving him out of the bed. If you really want him out of your room, talk to him about setting a goal date. Mark it on the calendar and have him count the days and look at it often. Set the date a ways out, over the next few weeks have him do a test run. Have him at least try to sleep in his own room. If he is afraid, he can come back to your room. Talk it up, remind him he is safe, and think of a reward for him sleeping on his own for a week. It may a few tries, but he'll get there.

He won't want to sleep w/ you forever. My 7 year old only HAS my room to sleep in and I still need to lay in his bed every night for him to fall asleep.... Then I get to move to my bed for the rest of the night. No big deal. He sleeps... I sleep... it's all good.
