smart but lazy

Hi, I have a son of 10 year old, who is very intelligent but most of the time, lazy. He only does his homework after getting hurled. He does not take initiative to do anything. I am now carrying my second baby and he pisses me off very often. I am very worried about him. Pls help. What should I do to put him in the right track?

He sounds like a pretty typical pre-teen boy. They need to be reminded all the time. That's normal. It's a consequence of the testosterone. I can understand your frustration, it used to frustrate the heck out of me too (I have two teen boys). But I did some research, and according to my research, testosterone literally renders them partially "brainless". As parents, we really DO have to be their diary and secretary, reminding them of their responsibilities on a regular basis. Once I understood that this is actually a biological thing, I will say that I became far less frustrated and much more organised at how I managed them. I assure you, it is probably not laziness but hormones.
