As a mom and several years as a daycare provider cheerios are the best. If the go down before being "gummed" there is a hole in the middle to allow air to pass through if it gets stuck. I have taken care of at least 75 babies, not including my own two and never had a problem. Teething bisquits need to be watched very closely, I have dug more than my shareof gummed off chunks out of mouths that could not chew the hard chunk. There are also small net bags you can purchase that you can put fruit in, this is so any chunks bitten off will not pose a choking problem.

My daughter wasn't able to handle the typical snacks till about 8 1/2 months. She gag at anything more than babyfood. But I would suggest puffs, banana cookie's from gerber, she also liked sucking on those bitter buscits, my friends baby ate those mum mum's at 7 months. Ate 7 month months my daughter really enjoyed fruit I bought one of those Munckin fresh fruit feeders and put frozen fruit in it and she chew on that forever she mainly just got the juices out of the friut. You can use fresh fruit but I did frozen because she was also teething. She liked it so much if you took it a way she scream and cry.
